MAGIC GUIDELINES
Intrinsic Magic
Intrinsic magic is conjured by opening the Gate to one's soul and releasing the raw element of one's emotions into the physical plane. The level of Magic a student can conjure is based on their emotional strength; how well they are able to control their Gate. Basic and higher level intrinsic magic requires the use of incantations, while lower level can be tapped without it.
Intrinsic magic is divided into four elements:
The element that sits in the counterclockwise position of another element on the Magic Circle is strong versus that element; for example, Water is strong versus Fire, but weak versus Earth. Elements across from one another on the Magic Circle are complementary and can be combined to form fusion spells.
Kinetic Magic
There are thirteen different types of Kinetic magics; six higher level abilities and seven lower level abilities. Your character can have two higher lever abilities and no lower level abilities; one higher level ability and three lower level abilities; or five lower level abilities.
HIGH LEVEL ABILITES
Biokinesis: The ability to mentally alter the physical body. This ability varies in degree from being able to slightly manipulate small things, such as eye and hair color to being able to entirely change DNA and create an entirely new and different body structure.
Chronokinesis: the ability to affect the flow of time. Those who can still and slow time around them, though traveling to the past and future is not possible. This ability is rare and the practice of chronokinesis is an obscure topic, even among other Kinetics.
Hypnokinesis: the ability to send an individual into a trance-like state or mentally manipulate an entranced individual. In this state Hypokenetics can control the entranced individual, both their physical and mental functions.
Molecukinesis: the ability to manipulate molecules, to control the molecules that make up anything that exists, and change or rearrange them into another form. Where Biokinesis only works on living things, Molecukinesis only works on non-living things
Photokinesis: the ability to manipulate light; creating intense or low beams, shifting or changing light, and to move objects via light. This ability is highly valued in regions where there is little technology and thus no technology generated lamps or lighting system.
Umbrakinesis: the ability to mentally manipulate and create shadow or darkness, shifting or changing darkness, or to move objects via shadow.
LOW LEVEL ABILITES
Cytokinesis: the ability to duplicate or clone abiotic items.
Echokinesis: the ability to send sound waves or messages over long distances.
Electrokinesis: the ability to manipulate electricity and electrical phenomena. Some Electrokinetics can only manipulate existing electrical fields, while others are able to produce electricity.
Gyrokinesis: the ability to mentally manipulate gravitational fields: the force of gravity of an abiot object. Gravitokinetics are able to enhance gravitational pull or negate it altogether.
Lygokinesis: the ability to generate and manipulate raw energy. Lygokinetcs can drain or give energy, either from or into themselves or transfering it from one source to another.
Telekinesis: the ability to move an object without use of physical force
Thermokinesis: the ability to mentally manipulate temperature.
