She looked at her uniform.

Checked the other students, and looked at it once more.

Quite frankly, it didn't suit her at all. The skirt...was so short, it was shocking. Ari didn't have a problem with how the uniforms were designed, or what colors were used. No, it was just the skirt and how utterly wrong it looked on her frame. She glanced at the Wildseed uniformed girls, envied at the long pants they were allowed to wear, and looked on towards the special Sakura class. Well, their skirt wasn't any better, but at least they had some sort of leggings, or whatever, to hide the skin.

So...much...skin showing. Like a typical Japanese female student, Lirai thought. She fiddled with the hem of her shirt, rubbed the material between two fingers before brushing her skirt down once more. As if it would make the length longer. The 'loose socks' and black shoes were of no problem, of course.

Whine, whinge, moan, grump.

Ari tried to think positive. At least she knew that this uniforms were of high standard. Compared with different schools, that is, where the uniforms were quite tacky, she thought honestly. Nothing would make her admit it though, and she certainly didn't think she was better. Perhaps, the skirt was at that length for a reason...and fiddled once more.

No, no reason had come to her yet.

Ari wasn't aware of this, but she did look quite...shifty. In a different sense, and in a literal sense. The people milling around her didn't pause to stare, but when one felt awkward and uncomfortable, one usually felt to be the 'center of attention' so to speak. As if everyone had seen her, and was mentally criticizing her. It was unnerving.

The difference between Lotus Institute and Roselin Academy was pronounced, but the uniform followed almost the same pattern. A different color, yes, but the quality and style were of similar ilk. The formal jacket with the ornamented neck and unorthodox tie. The pleated skirt, short to fit the idea of modern female fashion. She imagined it had something to do with the fact that both were schools with an all-female student body, which permitted a laxity of the rules of inappropriate attire, while encouraging them, supported by the wealth of the school, to pursue the idea of what was "trendy" and "flattering" to accomodate the concept of the teen-girl ego.

All in all, the uniforms were most likely a manifestation of the school's consideration towards gender. It was all very thoughtful of Them.

Minja's appearance required no adjustment. Familiar already with the sort of uniform dress, she wore it with a casual comfort that translated into confidence. The Sakura Class uniform was darker than the other class' mandatory dress and her ink black hair practically blended with the fabric where the locks hung against her shoulders. One side of her hair had been pushed back behind her ear, held in place with a gold clip that dangled little teardrop shaped charms of pearl and crystal against the side of her face.

If she were to imagine she was the 'center of attention', Minja would not think it was because of her appearance. It would be the cause of that nickname that was still floating around the Institute's populace. Her Earth Science professor had flung it at her earlier that day and had been quite dissapointed when Minja had remained silent for the duration of the class period. Her art teacher, on the other hand, had been expecting little and then pleasantly surprised with the quality of the young Jean girl's class performance.

At that time, Minja was carting the product of her class from the main building. She'd summon several sprites to help her; four air sprites carrying the heavy canvas through the sweeping insitute corridors, while another three sprites managed the brushes and paints. She'd formed one of the earth sprites with a sunflower as anchor and, perhaps for that reason, it seemed to be more bubbly and energetic than it's companions. The little thing seemed to be taking delight in whizing about, waving the paintbrushes it carried like wands. One one ocassion it had even painted a lewd drawing on the fourth floor corridor wall. (Minja had left the painting because it was actually rather well done)

Continuing this behavior, the sprite had whizzed out over the shifting crowd in the hall, turning little loops and flips in the air and disturbing the sprites conjured by other student. At one point it got into a minor tussel with a fire sprite, which was a really bad bit of judgement. Scalded a bit by the confrontation the sprite dropped the paintbrushes, allowing them to tumble through the air and fall on the head of a girl milling about, looking quite uncomfortable in her uniform.

OOC: Ahhh, so sorry for the length...I got carried away...

And so the ashen-haired girl knew she should have moved instead of just standing there looking like someone with nothing better to do. That was partially the truth, actually, but beside the point. Of course, she always had a gut feeling that something bad was about to happen. But so accustomed to the feeling she was, she decided to pay it no heed this time around.

How...unfortunate. How very unfortunate. If anything, a paintbrush falling on one's head would be categorized as a misfortune. Ari simply took it as the mocking hand of fate. As the rest of the brushes clattered around her, she winced sharply as the sharp end of the object collided into her head. Ari bent her head low to clutch at her head, eyes squeezed shut as if to cancel the feeling the brush produced. The thoughts of a short skirt revealing more than necessary was forgotten momentarily, have something much more alarming to set her mind reeling on.

The female bit her lip gently, before uttering a soft, "Ouch..." If that was on purpose, then she didn't know why (then again, when did pranksters ever need a reason to pull a joke?). Since she had hardly been here to actually seriously offend someone. Or maybe it was her presence again, as it was in her previous school. Yet those had pulled pranks on her purely because she was different from them. Here...well, wasn't everyone the same?

Feeling a small bump starting to form, pressed against her palm, Ari removed her clutch on the injury and glanced at her fingers instead. She breathed a slight sigh of relief. It felt worse than it was; no blood which was always a plus. Having such a wound would attract the attention she didn't want or need at this moment.

As the female jerked her head to stare above for anymore incoming missiles, she had to press her teeth together when the pain spread from such a hasty movement. As the brush had fell from the sky, she guessed it may have come from that source.

Up above. However, seeing a couple of...wispy like things darting around the hall was something she least expected. Being a Crafter, she finally recognized the 'attackers' to be sprites of some sort. A few was carrying a canvas, it seemed, and others, art supplies. That confirmed that it was those little sprites. Unnoticed, the sharp pain that existed only moments before had gradually faded to a dull throbbing, and she was hardly concerned about that now. If there was nothing that looked serious, then it was nothing to fuss about. She was more interested in why the elemental sprites chose to throw the brushes at her.

Was it because she was complaining about the skirts? With that thought back in mind, Ari looked down to her skirt, as if it had uplifted from the incident. Pressing her hands against the clothing, she smoothed it down once more. Just as she had done previously, while her head turned this way and that subtly.

She was looking for the person, the owner of the brushes who conjured the sprites. Ari could tell by the art supplies they were holding that the sprites belonged to someone, and weren't just wayward. But, she couldn't pick anyone out. Or no-one that looked guilty enough, or was laughing. Sure, there were a few chuckles now and again, but she ignored those. Due to the fact that her eyesight was slightly inaccurate, and that there were still many people around, none had stopped to help. Well, at least she thought so. She may have recalled a few, but she hadn't given them a response or affirmative. Perhaps that gave an indication that she didn't need any assistance.

Speaking of which, Ari stooped to gather the scattered paintbrushes in two hands, muttering quickly to herself. She was still expecting a crayon box to come slamming onto her back, and knowing her physical strength, the force would quite literally, make her collapse. Plus, it was the height of which it was dropped and the heaviness of the box and chalk combined. Now, if the person wanted their supplies back, they would have to show themselves to Ari. Unless the sprites snatched them out of her hands, which would be quite unfortunate for her. However, the ashen-haired female wasn't really thinking of revenge or anything of the sort.

She was simply curious.
